Camp Quest (noun): 1. Summer camp beyond belief! 2. A place for fun, friends, and freethought for kids ages 8-17.
The purpose of Camp Quest is to provide children of freethinking parents a residential summer camp dedicated to improving the human condition through rational inquiry, critical and creative thinking, scientific method, self-respect, ethics, competency, self development and personal growth. Campers explore these ideas through fun hands-on activities. They also enjoy traditional summer camp games, crafts and challenges.
Camp Quest Colorado is one of the newest of over a dozen Camp Quests nationwide.
The first real Camp Quest Colorado event, our Family Weekend Retreat, will be on August 9th to the 11th, up in the mountains at the Kellogg Ranch near Boulder. We have finally gotten our website and registration forms up and running. The cost for the 3 day, 2 night event is $50 per family, plus $90 per person. Children 3 and under are free. Scholarships are also available. The price includes all of your food and activities for the entire weekend. You will need to bring your own camping equipment, but if you need something, we can provide some items. Basically, you only need a tent, air mattresses, sleeping bags and blankets, clothes, flashlights, sun screen and personal items (such as a toothbrush, etc.). RVs and camping trailers are OK, as well. There is a comfy cabin with bathrooms just for us to use.
The weekend will be packed with all sorts of fun and educational activities for kids AND parents. The director of Camp Quest Oklahoma, along with other experienced counselors from Oklahoma are traveling all the way to Colorado, to help make this the best camp kickoff ever. Register here!
